When You Die, You Can Stand Up For Me

Photo: Janine CareyThe long weekend is over. I attended the last show on Monday, however forgot to load my memory card into my camera and thus I have nothing from Mondays show, but a wise man once said something like ‘….don’t be sad, 3 out of 4 ain’t bad’. Anyway, as most of you know by now, the current set list contains a lot of new material which can sometimes be bad news for some fans, this was not the case. Upon hearing Stevie, Language City and Fine Young Cannibals at Fridays show my anticipation for the new album rose ten fold.

More review and footage if you…….

The Friday to Sunday shows where phenomenal, with each show getting better and crowd reaction louder. When they ended on Sunday with I’ll Believe In Anything, the crowd was insane, pounding the floor, screaming louder and louder. I really thought they were going to do a second encore, but there is no reason to be unsatisfied, they really put every ounce of energy into the show. My only complaint of the run was during the Monday show, there seemed to be an unspoken animosity on stage. The banter was quick (if any), there wasn’t much talking amongst the band, but maybe I’m just reading too much into it. Did anyone else notice this?

The opening act that impressed me the most was Holy Fuck. The hype I heard was true! See them, you’ll thank me for it!! Plants and Animals were on fire Monday night and their guitar player is sick!

Finally, I want to say it was great meeting Maria from wolfparade.nonstuff.com, check out her site and register to the forum. If there is anything you want to know about Wolf Parade it’s on that forum (we shamelessly promote this website there too!).

Here is the entire Friday show  The footage is decent.  Probably the best we got out of the 4 nights. Enjoy!

Awesome… So friggin awesome… Christ I wish I could see em live. Crazy Horse just might be the greatest Wolf Parade song EVER! I can’t wait to hear these cuts in studio form.
BTW: Stevie isn’t on there, it’s just Chinese Way again…

Yeah it’s gravy. I heard rumors that the official tracklist is out there in web land. I think it might be bullshit, but does anyone know? I love the new material, I can’t wait to get this album in my car.
Your site is rad, keep up the radness…
