And I Never Cared About Henry Rollins
Personally those lyrics cannot be further from the truth, however, since I have some news concerning Mr. Rollins I thought that it would be fitting. Last week I had a chance to check out the Los Campesinos live at Le National opening for Kevin Drew. Up front I want to say that I didn’t stay for Kevin Drew, frankly my nerves were shot from work, my girlfriend and I were feeling less than 100% and I don’t like Spirit If much. If you want a great review of KD’s show check out False 45ths opinion here. The Los Campesinos have been a great addition to the music of 2007, like I already said months ago here. I heard they stole the show in Toronto the day before, which doesn’t surprise me since they gave the crowd at Le National everything they had with the style and energy of a headlining act. These guys are the personification of fun and changed my sour Montreal winter mood to a more pleasant one. The set list was what I expected mixed with some tracks I haven’t heard including “Frontwards” and “Switching Switches”. My girlfriend was impressed with the guitar players French and how every member of the band was wearing different colour t-shirts (I didn’t notice that). My only complaint is that they never played their cover of Black Flag’s “Police Story” but speaking of Henry Rollins (lead singer of Black Flag for those failing Punk History 101), he’ll be in Montreal March 2nd. I’ve been a fan boy of his since I read “Get In The Van: On The Road With Black Flag”, He’s a living legend who has some great stories to tell and experiences to share. If you want to buy tickets go here. Enough Rollins man love, heres the good stuff.

I wondered if you were at the show. I must have been about thirty feet to your left.
Thanks for the videos and tracks. Sound great. I agree with you about your complaint. Los Camps rocked the house and probably made a bunch of new fans but I wish they had played “Police Story”.
And thanks for the link.
