Came across these guys recently - and instantly predicted an ensuing label war.  Thailand is an LA-based trio, who have mixed the flamboyance of David Bowie, with a touch of Velvet Underground snappy, a slew of jangly sixties, and the biggest pop/punk beats of the eighties to create catchy songs that don’t try to impress - they just do.  And they do it well.  Striking the perfect balance between enthusiasm and restraint, Thailand recently released their EP The Remote Controller Absorbs The Place.  Their debut 2007 full-length was titled Motorcade.  They were also featured in SPIN as one of Three Undiscovered Bands You Need To Hear Now.
