It’s The Thought That Counts (I guess)

As time goes on I find it harder and harder to take Conor Oberst seriously. I was a late Bright Eyes fan, jumping on that chuck wagon in 2004 because Digital Ash For A Digital Urn is a work of utter genius. But I could only get a few plays out of Cassadega and The Mystic Valley Band (read bland) bored me to tears. That Monsters of Folk album didn’t do much for me either. So Saddle Creek is now re-releasing One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels, the EP featuring Oberst and Neva Dinova and putting the duo back together for some new material. Here’s one of the new tracks, I’m digging it, especially at 2:10, its shades of 2004 all over again.

You were so right, that song does take Coner back a few years. As a first listen i’m very excited to hear this EP! Cassadaga defiantly was different than most of Coner’s material. Everytime I listened to it I felt like I was on that plane diving into the ocean, but the rest of the album kept me from drowning haha.
