In this weeks Trendcast we welcome an up-and-coming Montreal band Parlovr to Trendwhore Studio to play some live tracks and shoot the shit whilst consuming liberal amounts of malty beverages. We’ll play a couple of tracks from their ’soon to be released’ debut self-titled album, find out who they are, and then let them choose a few of their favorite songs for you to hear! In the next couple of days we’ll have the Parlovr Trendwhore live session available for download and if you are in the Montreal area you can check out Parlovr live:

In our third episode of the ever-improving Trendcast, Montreal paint-eur Peter Farmer visits the studio to talk about his economy stretch limo and his upcoming show Siren in Halifax where he’ll be doing a live painting of a topless mermaid, Brock and Wes debate the definition of East Coast Celtic music, and Brock ponders the insanely hot weather, which is stupid. And, with the Osheaga special behind us, we spin our picks of the best tracks from the best bands visiting town.
We’ve hopefully learned from our initial mistakes with the first podcast. This one promises to be more “uh” free and coherent. If you missed our first show it was basically a run down of bands you’ll hear on the first day of Montreal’s 3rd annual Osheaga music and arts festival. This week you’ll hear some music from day 2’s line up, how fun. Now sit back relax and click play on this weeks podcast. You might discover something new.
I hope everyone is having a glorious long weekend. Its great to have some extra time to get things organized here at Trendwhore. Currently I’m ripping the MP3s for the Tapes N’ Tapes show back when The Habs still had a playoff run. The video didn’t come out well (and neither did The Habs for that matter). Also, expect some video of British Sea Power, The Rosebuds and Peter Moren over the course of next week. In other news we have a new contributer, her name is AnnA and she is a fantastic writer. Expect good things from her. So now onto our very first Podcast. We’ve been talking about doing a podcast for some time and finally did our test run last week. A new podcast should go live every Thursday. The first 2 shows are going to be centered around Osheaga. The first podcast will feature artists appearing at the first day of Osheaga and the second podcast will deal with artists appearing on the second day of Osheaga, how clever! Before listening to this I want to give a disclaimer, I know I say “uh” too much, I was nervous, and I promise it will stop. Please give all the feedback you can, good or bad. You can always skip my “uhs” and listen to the hot tracks. Enjoy!
