Grow For More And Heads Will Roll
Can anyone remember that a month and a half ago when The Canadians were still in the Stanley Cup running? It was April 15th, The Habs were losing to The Bruins, Hot Chip were selling out the Metropolis and Tapes N Tapes played to a few dozen people at the Cabaret Just Pour Rire. Tapes N Tapes were hyped to indy stardom by the fickle blogosphere and this year things are going all pear shaped for them. Their current release Walk It Off isn’t drawing as much love as was expected. However, that Tuesday I sold my Hot Chip ticket, packed up my camera and decided to see Tapes N Tapes for a second time. The common denominators of this show and the Le National show was, a solid opener (Ladyhawk and White Denim) and a great performance (see videos of Le National). These guy rock, plain and simple. I didn’t regret missing Hot Chip since I heard a number of people saying it was a lackluster show. Check out the mp3s from the show below, they are currently overseas touring. Go see these guys, you won’t regret it.
